M2 is an upright CNC (automated power tool) that precisely cuts and engraves flat materials to create beautiful projects right from home.  Unlike traditional, gantry-based CNC, this Maslow-based design works with gravity – rather than against it – to save space and money.

The process is simple: follow our guide to build a basic, wooden frame from common materials and tools.  Assemble and calibrate your M2 machine.  (Our US-based customer support team is here to help, if you ever get stuck)  Then upload pre-made, or custom projects to our free control software, and get to making something amazing!  You’ll also find tons of great projects for download on our marketplace, each one designed by a maker in our online community.

Our goal at Maker Made is to do the really hard parts for you, and let you finish out the simpler setup steps.  By getting creative in this way, we’re able to unlock far more creative potential, at a much smaller price, than any other comparable tool on the market.

  • Up to 32sq ft of cutting space

This machine is the real deal. It took me a day to figure out the calibration (I pre-ordered so the instructions were a bit scarce / since been updated / and with the new Makerverse software, calibration looks to be a ton easier.) I was skeptical, but the accuracy is awesome. This is a game changer for the hobbyist. I’m already building fit-together type projects that are spot on. You’re only limitation is your design skills. Can’t wait to expand my maker repertoire using this amazing tool.

I had pre-ordered in June and got my M2 on August 07 in Canada. I am in the process of putting together the frame and assembly. I love the new frame its easy to make. I like the information provided and the videos but I am unhappy and totally lost with setting up the router.
I tried buying the Ridgid R22002 in Canada but could not find it in Ontario, I finally bought R29303 from Home Depot but almost midnight as I try to attach the router I find out that Ridgid is too big for the M2 Z axis assembly and that I should buy either Bosch Colt, Makita or Dewalt 611.
This is an unpleasant surprise for me, I wish I knew earlier and somehow I resent going down from a 2 HP router to 1.25 HP. I think bigger is better and we should have opted for a more powerful machine not less.
Anyway I will return the Ridgid and find one of the smaller ones and resume assembly.

Got one from the first batch of M2’s back in July. A real superb machine. I have a garage the size of a hall way with 78″ ceilings and I never imagined I could fit a 4ft x 8ft CNC machine in there. Built the frame according to the manual, except with a 12ft top beam right at the top of the ceiling. Calibration is a highly mathematical art, but once you set it you can forget it. I can cut every part of a 4ft x 8ft board within 0.005″ of accuracy with the standard chains that came with the kit (by tying a cord to the end of the chains and suspending a weight from the center of the top beam to keep them taught). I’m spending 30USD a board and making furniture, prototypes, dinosaurs, a router table, and whatever else I can think up. I chose the Dewalt 611 and highly recommend Fusion 360 to generate gcode.

Real happy with the M2. I had no experience with the original Maslow, jumped straight into this one and I have to say, I’m having a lot of fun making things. Love the fact that it sits up against the wall because I have limited space in the garage. It does take some time to set up and calibrate, but once it’s set you’re good to go.

We have tried the first makermade cnc machine and this one it’s so much better. There are 3 big things that make a big difference. 1- The new rig system that allow us to attach the frame to the wall, and assemble it in less than half time than the previous one. 2- The new Z axis now we can work with some carving works because it’s so fast and accurate.. 3- The new software !! We really love it because it has automatic calibration !! This is a machine to have by every maker –

Have to say there are some major benefits to the new design. The all steel frame eliminates the worry of deflection completely! In addition, the frame is a major upgrade from a maintenance and reliability viewpoint. I think the strap idea is also a great improvement over the old clamping design for the weights on the classic system. It does have better labeling for setup and assembly as well but needs some work to simplify assembly for the beginner. Keep in mind this is still a DIY kit and does have a few items that need improvement. With all of this in mind, it’s still a great value for a CNC beginner and with the right setup it has the largest cut area for the money! I posted several in-depth in-biased videos on My YouTube channel 2 Tankard Creations. For a more in-depth review, take a look and enjoy!
