MakerMade M2 CNC Machine (2025), Standard Model

Depending on the router and bit used, the MakerMade M2 hobby CNC router can be used for cutting, trimming, and shaping tasks. If you purchase the MakerMade 2.8w JTech and Lightburn software, you can do laser engraving. 

It can work on the following materials like plywood, hardwoods, MDF, laminates, hard plastics including acrylic, nylon, uPVC, and PVC, soft plastics including polycarbonate, polyethylene, and soft PVC, and thin-sheet aluminum.

After correct setup and calibration, the MakerMade M2 has less than 1 mm variance across 32 sq. ft., making it accurate for most cutting and shaping projects. 

Durable design

The MakerMade M2 CNC wood router has three industrial motors driving the x,y, and z axes movement of the router, with a max plunge depth of 3.8 inches. The chains and sled are all made of durable metal.

The main parts are the wood frame which holds the entire CNC assembly and the sheet workpiece in a standing position, the X/Y industrial motors and metal chains, which moves the sled, and the sled, which holds the router and the z-axis mount.

The entire kit requires assembly out of the box, and you only need simple hand tools to do so. You can contact our customer service for help in assembly and operating the MakerMade M2 out of the box. 

The Precise CNC Wood Router Machine

It cuts and shapes precisely with pinpoint accuracy, making the MakerMade M2 ideal for small and big CNC projects. The standard frame can cut up to 4 x 8 foot standard-size plywood sheets, and a maximum depth of 3.8 inches. 

The sled and the z-axis assembly are all made of metal for durability and reliability. There is a dust collection tube where you can connect a vacuum

Although it accepts most router brands, the MakerMade M2 works best with Makermade CNC Router. It can accept most router bit sizes your router can accommodate. Depending on the router bit used, you can use it to cut, mill, shape, or trim material. The maximum cutting speed is up to 40 inches/min (17 mm/sec).

The x/y, and z motors are powerful industrial worm gear motors, providing lots of torque precise control on the chains and depth of the router. These motors are controlled by an IDE Arduino. 

Control with Makerhub

The Makermade M2 uses the free and open-source Makerhub for automated control. The software is easy to use and can be installed on Windows, Linux, and Mac, and it connects to the CNC machine with a micro-USB connection.
